This is for students to familiarize themselves with the focus words in a fun setting.

3. Letters of the alphabet – easy cutting option (6 pages)

Print multiple couples for groups of students.

4. Spelling Word Mats to accompany #3 version. (4 pages) 

There are 5 pictures on each word mat. Students lay the correct letters/sounds, in the right position, on the mat.

Once students have practiced with the 20 focus words, they should be encouraged to investigate real and nonsense words with all the letters of the alphabet.

#5 and #6 are the same as #3 and #4. (10 pages)

Here I have used jigsaw pieces as these are visually more appealing and help students understand that letters and sounds must be blended to create a word. This version creates a lot more cutting, this is why I have included the alternate version above.

NB: Detailed 'Teacher Notes' are included. I have also included an editable probe grid for teachers to add their own content.

These probe grids are intended to be used as intervention for students who are making very little progress with basic skills in literacy.

The grids are highly structured, to be used little and often, with the aim of boosting fluency, accuracy and confidence.

Use them as part of a 5/10 minute daily program for basic skills learning. (They should be used on a one-to-one basis with a suitable adult). The daily activity aims to help the student develop fluency by over-learning.

The grids are intended to challenge the student to read as many items as possible in 1 minute – a sand timer or stopwatch can be used.

Practice Makes Perfect! Handwriting Workbook: Read, Trace, Write, Draw

96 pages in total, this handwriting practice pack was created for first graders, but I believe it would also be beneficial for advanced Kindergarten students. I hope it proves to be both challenging and fun for your students as they practice reading, tracing, writing and drawing.

The first page helps practice handwriting formation and includes a word beginning with the focus letter, along with a picture cue. Students can also color, as well as identify words beginning with the focus letter and illustrate these. 

The second page allows students to read, trace and write a phrase containing a word beginning with the focus letter and identifies additional words for the students to trace and illustrate.

The pages may be copied back to back and stapled as a booklet. 

A front cover can be added from a choice of 3. For less advanced readers, you may wish to copy only the first page.

This handwriting pack can be used for morning work, independent work or may be used in a whole group setting.

I have added in extra review/practice with sight words: Pre-Primer; Primer; First; Second, plus some nouns for formatting purposes. (Read, trace and write)

Hi everyone!  Welcome back to the 12 days of Christmas!  Each day you can grab one of my products for 50% off for one day only.

Today I am offering my Super Sight Word Sentence Scramble {Dolch First Grade}.  This has proved to be a popular product and was a lot of fun to make!  Just click on the pic below to check out this product in my store.

This pack provides a fun way for children to practice Dolch Sight Words!

I have written 30 sentences using all the Dolch First Grade Sight Vocabulary. The sentences have been completed using Pre-Primer, Primer and some Second Grade Sight Vocabulary, plus Dolch Nouns.

Each sentence contains 6 words and is split into 1 word per flashcard with an illustration.

Just print, cut and laminate for durability.

The cards should be scrambled for students to read and place in the correct order. The sentences can then be recorded in the accompanying booklet. Each page is numbered to match the flashcards, has writing lines and a space for an illustration.

I have also included an assessment sheet, color-coded to show progress throughout the school year.
